【报告摘要】:Studying interacting quantum systems is challenging, in general. The combination of large number of degrees of freedom and many-body interacting terms in the Hamiltonian constitute a problem that is analytically intractable in most cases. While in non-interacting systems a solution for a single particle can be easily extended for a many-particle case, when interaction is present, a particular solution embodies specific configuration of each particle of the system. As such, a given quantum state may depend on a number of parameters as large as the dimension of the Hilbert space, which increases exponentially with the number of particles in the system. In this situation, one is forced to search for alternative approximated analytical or numerical solutions for the problem. In the proposed lectures we aim at discussing some analytical and numerical approaches for few relevant many-body problems such as interacting quantum dots, Majorana fermions and quantum spin chains. The idea is to emphasize the impossibility of using analytical approaches and discuss the alternative numerical approaches usually adopted for different problems. For the analytical approach we will discuss the Green’s function method, its beauty and limitations. Among the numerical methods we will focus on (1) Exact diagonalization, (2) Numerical Renormalization Group, (3) Density Matrix Renormalization Group. Finally we will address the quantum dynamics of many-body system for Many-Body Localization.
