【报告摘要】：The optical spin effect consists in the generation of spin currents orthogonal to the direction of propagation of light in semiconductor structures. This effect proposed by us in 2005 was subsequently observed in a variety of structures that sustain exciton-polaritons. Recently, the optical spin Hall has been used to implement optical spin switches and logic gates. The physical origins of the effect and its link to the topology of optical flows will be discussed.
【报告人简介】：Alexey Kavokin教授23岁获俄罗斯科学院物理学博士，28岁获评法国Montpellier大学教授。2018-2024年加入西湖大学, 成为国际极化子中心主任，获1亿元启动资金，在国家量子2030计划中作为量子极化子网络的牵头机构获得长期资助。2022年在莫斯科物理与技术研究所成立Abrikosov理论物理中心。由于对室温激子—极化子室温凝聚的理论预测导致极化子激光器的发展，2020年获国际量子器件奖（1年只有1位科学家获奖）和格罗斯奖。2020年在极化子激光器方面的工作入围柏林Falling Walls的年度突破。自2000年以来，成功制造世界上第一台极化子激光器，并在室温观测到激子-极化子的凝聚，先后发表论文200余篇，其中narure及子刊7篇，PRL16篇。
